Summary
Well, I saw this movie first when it was called "Table for One". To give you more than a hint of the plot, is to take away from your good time. Let's start with the DVD quality: excellent audio and video.
Now, this story is way off the beaten path. It involves people with secrets and emotional problems, and no help in sight. Rebecca DeMornay's performance is stellar and most believable. The movie is sad, happy, hopeful, depressing, morbid - you name it. Ruth has serious psychological problems, but maybe they were made worse by her husband through medication. He is leading a double-life, and Ruth doesn't trust him. Each thinks the other is trying to kill him/her. There is NOT a dull moment in this movie. It is bizarre and riveting, but not ridiculous. If your idea of a thriller is "Lassie Comes Home", then this is NOT for you.
